While Nate's been worrying about outfitting the boat, for me, embracing the life of a sailor means embracing Yacht Rock.
The operative adjective defining yacht rock is "smooth". Whether smooth vocal stylings, smooth music, or smooth image you will find smooth-ness is all pervasive when it comes to yacht rock.

With that in mind, here is my top 11 list:
- "Biggest Part of Me, Ambrosia
- "Feels so good", Chuck Magione
- "Peg", Steely Dan
- "Steal Away", Robbie Dupree
- "I Keep Forgettin'", Michael McDonald (no Yacht Rock list would be complete sans MMcD)
- "Ride Like the Wind", Christopher Cross
- "On and On", Stephen Bishop
- "Africa", Toto
- "What a Fool Believes", Doobie Brothers
- "Caribean Queen (No More Love on the Run)", Billy Ocean
- "I Can't Go For That (No Can Do)", Hall and Oates
